Atlanta introduces smoking and vaping ban (and reasons why) by Dr. Mercola

Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms has signed legislation banning smoking and vaping in enclosed public areas, including bars, restaurants, hotels, stores, public restrooms, parking structures, public transit vehicles and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The ordinance includes a definition of smoking that includes e-cigarettes and vaping, so all forms of smoking will be banned starting January 2, 2020.

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International was one of the few major United States airports that still allowed smoking in designated rooms. Spokesman for the airport, Andrew Gobeil, told The Associated Press the smoking rooms will be repurposed. Smokers with a layover in the airport will need to exit through security to access an outdoor terminal smoking area. Afterward, they will need to go back through security to re-enter.

Councilman Matt Westmoreland played a role in writing the legislation. He said, “Secondhand smoke is lethal. We believe everybody should have the right to breathe smoke-free air.” Exceptions to the ban include private homes and vehicles, tobacco and vape stores, cigar bars and private clubs that prohibit minors and generate 20% of their annual gross revenue from tobacco product sales.

Smoking rots your body from the inside out — quite literally. In addition to causing heart disease and cancer, smoking can damage your bones, eyes, teeth, fertility, brain and more. E-cigarettes, marketed as a “safer alternative to smoking” are anything but. They contain dangerous chemicals and toxic heavy metals associated with cancers, heart disease and stroke, among other serious health conditions.

While secondhand smoke may be easier to see, smell and taste when inhaled by bystanders, the toxins from e-cigarettes are also easily inhaled, sans the offensive odor. Despite delivering lower levels of nicotine, people exposed to e-cigarette air pollution have similar levels of nicotine in their system as those exposed to traditional secondhand cigarette smoke. Other toxins detected in e-cigarette vapors include diacetyl, formaldehyde, diethylene glycol, tobacco-specific nitrosamine and highly reactive free radicals.

Hidden Environmental Stress by Dr. Eric Berg

Get rid of stress and help your adrenals.

There are so many things in your environment that triggers stress such as TV.

If you watch the news over a period of time your mind starts to fixated on fear. The worst thing you can do is watch the news before bed.

You have to personally select what is in your environment and in your space and not allow everything to come through so that you won’t get all these triggers.

There are tons of things that are affecting your adrenals and you may not be aware of it.

The stress is in the past with memories and past pictures that have pain. We want to put your more into the future – more in imagination or day dream of how beautiful your future will be for you.

I’m not talking about fear of the future because that is still rooted to your past. Being in the future is a complete blank slate, you’re not there yet. It is a very healthy place to be.

Being in the present is therapeutic. Me and my wife play with legos or color instead of watching TV because it forces us to be in the present through activity.

Anything you can do to create rather it is:

Music

Writing

Walking

These things are very healthy and will help you stay present. In the present, there is no scary anything.

The Cause of Your Neuropathy, is it Unknown?

I’ve been talking to people about their neuropathy for 13 years.  I recently offered a quiz to help people to know what can make the neuropathy worse, or what will slow down building healthy nerves when taking supplements.  (Here is the quiz, if you are interested – Quiz 

One thing that I get often is that the cause of their neuropathy (nerve damage) is unknown.   Not only does that bother me as they could be doing something everyday that creates more nerve damage, but I don’t understand why the cause can’t be found.

Nutrition & Health – What is Good Nutrition?

Nutrition is an important subject, although often ignored by most medical doctors as secondary, somehow relegated to something that comes about by just normal day to day eating.   I’ve never been certain how they think that you can get enough nutrition from fast food restaurants or the supermarket processed foods that most people consume.   Some doctors are catching on and recommending supplements but sometimes their understanding is limited in scope.   I keep asking when the subject will be reintroduced into medical schools so that we can have truly educated health care physicians in the medical field. (Did you know that homeopathy & herbal medicine was taught in medical schools before 1920?).

An example of ignoring nutrition was when  a friend had gallstones and her doctor wanted to remove her gallbladder. I thought that the doctor would at least give her a diet which restricted some of the poor food choices she made, but no, he said she didn’t have to change her diet despite not having a gallbladder.   I was never sure why he didn’t think that diet had anything to do with gallstones.
