Education for a Drug Free World

There is a lot of talk about drugs in the world—on the streets, at school, on the Internet and TV. Some of it is true, some not.

Much of what you hear about drugs actually comes from those selling them. Reformed drug dealers have confessed they would have said anything to get others to buy drugs.

Don’t be fooled. You need facts to avoid becoming hooked on drugs and to help your friends stay off them.

Sooner or later—if it hasn’t already happened—you, or someone close to you, will be offered drugs. The decision of whether or not to use them could drastically affect your life. Any addict will tell you they never expected a drug to take control of their life or maybe that they started with “just pot” and that it was “just something to do” with their friends. They thought they could handle it and when they found out they couldn’t, it was too late.

You have a right to know the FACTS about drugs—not opinions, hype or scare tactics. So how do you tell fact from fiction? That is why this website was created —for you. Get the Facts

The Foundation for a Drug-Free World is a nonprofit public benefit corporation that empowers youth and adults with factual information about drugs so they can make informed decisions and live drug-free.

The Truth About Drugs Education Package contains practical tools to educate young people about substance abuse.

There are also free on-line courses.

Immunity Tune up

Definition of Immunity:

1. the ability of an organism to resist a particular infection or toxin by the action of specific antibodies or sensitized white blood cells. 2. Lack of susceptibility, especially to something unwelcome or harmful

The root Latin definition of the word means "safe".

Your immune system is your personal safety system against disease. It can be tuned up like any system of the body.

Take advantage of such a tune up. There are lots of products that can help.

See Immunity & a Healthy Immune System (we are constantly updating this page as we find new information for you).

Inflammation, a new disease or a symptom

There are so many articles and drug commercial talking about inflammation. It almost starts to sound like a disease unto itself. But inflammation, much like high blood pressure or obesity, are a symptom to be addressed by finding out what is causing the inflammation.

High on the list is the food we eat. I found a list of foods that can cause inflammation. Easy, stay away from them. (acknowledgement to Dr. Josh Axe)

Fried Foods
Processed Meats
Refined Carbohydrates
Artificial Sweeteners
Vegetable Oils
High Fructose Corn Syrup

I don't eat these as I feel they are toxic, and I don't want to eat them, but why do they create inflammation?

Refined carbs like pasta, white bread, cookies and crackers are notorious as some of the top foods that cause inflammation of the joints. These foods undergo extensive processing, stripping them of beneficial nutrients, such as fiber. Refined carbs also tend to have a higher glycemic index, which is used to measure how quickly foods increase blood sugar levels. Research shows that consuming foods with a high glycemic index may increase i inflammation, even in healthy adults and can lead to insulin resistance.

Fried foods increase
trans fats which increases inflammation in the body.

Alcohol intake can also ramp up  the risk of leaky gut syndrome, a condition in which toxins and food particles leak from the digestive tract into the blood, causing widespread inflammation.
There are also lots of nutritional deficiencies created by drinking alcohol.

Studies indicate that artificial sweeteners may disrupt the health of the gut microbiome (the microorganisms in a particular environment (including the body or a part of the body). which plays a key role in regulating inflammation. On study showed that consumption of sucralose (Splenda) could cause liver inflammation in mice.

Just like regular sugar, high-fructose corn syrup is at the top of the inflammatory foods chart and can have detrimental effects on nearly every aspect of health.

If you look at the commom denominator the body can not use them in its biological processes.

Eat real food. Eat food without toxins (artificial ingredients that are added when processed) and find out what condition you have that creates inflammation and address that.

Have any questions about inflammation that you are experiencing? See out Site Index, or email.

Elderberry - Is this evidence based?

Elderberry makes a great treatment for upper respiratory symptoms. A reduction in total symptoms should also produce a reduction in total complications, which has the potential to save lives.
