This talks about not getting enough electrolytes or not eating enough healthy fats and more. With this information, you'll be able to avoid common pitfalls and achieve success on your ketogenic journey.

16 Big Keto Mistakes

1. Not really reading labels. And "keto friendly" may have ingredients not Healthy Keto. Read the labels.
16 biggest mistakes people make on Healthy Keto. Take a look.

1. Not reading ingredients (many hidden carbs and chemicals) Even when it says "keto friendly" it may have ingredients not really keto.

2. Not looking at the serving size. It says grams per serving, when you would use much more than that,

3. Judging success on weight loss alone. If you aren't losing weight, your body has to get healthy to lose weight. The weight will come off when you get healthy.

4. Comparing your results with others People are different, lot of difference.

5. Not having enough sea salt. On Keto your body loses sale, add more

6. Having a cheat day - not recommended

7. Having too much or not enough fat - increase more fat to fast longer. Need to transition. Don't add too much.

8. Having too much protein increases insulin that can slow you down. Moderate protein 3-6 or 7 oz.

9. Not doing intermittent fasting with keto, need to do them together. Not going to achieve your health goal.

10. Basing ketosis on urine strips - as your body burns more ketones. You aren't going to see it in the urine.

11. Giving up when it’s working - not getting results you wanted, when it is working. Have to get healthy first.

12. Changing something when it’s working Continue. If you have more muscle to fat, you may stay the same weight but clothes are loose. Do what is working.

13. Eating when you’re not hungry Don't just eat because it's a habit. Your body is eating its own fat. If your hunger goes up and energy doesn't go down. If you ignore it and it goes away, don't eat.

14. Estimation of effort and time is incorrect. If you've been eating badly, it will take a longer time then you think.

15. Hunger vs. time to eat (if you're experiencing lightheadedness or dizziness, it's time to eat!)

16. Consuming small amounts of carbs that block fat burning. Only need a tiny amount will stimulate insulin and thus block fat burning.

3 Goals Your Body Needs to Reach & Stay Health by Dr. Martin

(We like Dr. Martin's articles, he has a good way of explaining things with good analogies).

I mentioned how there are only 3 goals your body needs to reach to stay healthy well into your 80s. And if you focus your energy on reaching these 3 goals… Then, that's mostly all you really need to do.

Those 3 goals were:

• Bulletproof Gut
• Strong Metabolic Health
• Minimal Oxidative Stress

Let's talk about having minimal oxidative stress. Sadly, most doctors rarely think about oxidative stress's effects on your health. And that's a mistake.

What is oxidative stress?

Think of a sliced apple left on the kitchen counter overnight.
By morning, the apple is a brown, rotten mess.

That is oxidative stress.

Another way to think of oxidative stress is to picture an old rusty car. Rust is oxidative stress. The same thing that gives us life — oxygen. Also slowly kills us. We are rusting out. You may not realize it.

But your cells are under CONSTANT attack from free radicals… And free radicals CAUSE oxidative stress.

Free radicals, by definition, are unstable atoms. Think of free radicals like a drunk person walking through a fine china shop. Imagine the damage they can do to the store.

Free radicals can do the same thing to your…

• Brain
• Skin
• Joints
• Mitochondria
• Liver
• Heart
• Lungs

Free radical damage is also why some people age faster (and look older). So, if you want to limit oxidative stress…Then you must fight free radicals.

How do you do that?

If you live on planet earth then you can't avoid them. They are everywhere. Your cells are attacked by free radicals tens of millions of times per day.

There are 2 ways we end up overrun by free radicals.

1. Lifestyle factors that drastically increase our exposure to free radicals.
2. Poor metabolic health and a weak immune system that can't fight them off.

If you smoke or are a heavy drinker, stressed, exposed to chemicals, eat a lot of crappy seed oils (they're all crappy), or take many meds, then you're being bombarded by free radicals…

And you're most likely tired, aging faster, not sleeping well, and your brain isn't as sharp as it should be.

If you have high circulating insulin, messed up cortisol, fatty liver, visceral fat, low vitamin D, and you don't take a good antioxidant. Then you're also losing the battle against free radicals.

You should know that to fight free radicals…

Your body makes antioxidants. The problem is that your body can't make enough to fight off the excess free radicals you encounter.

The single biggest weapon you've got in the fight against free radicals is antioxidants. Which is why everyone should be taking a good antioxidant.

Here is an article on Free Radicals and Antioxidants

Inflammation Relief is also Pain Relief

Pain comes from inflammation. It is the body's way of telling you it has unwanted inflammation or injury.

Irrespective of the characteristic of the pain, whether it is sharp, dull, aching, burning, stabbing, numbing or tingling, all pain arise from inflammation and the inflammatory response. Sota Omoigui, MD

See   The Biochemical Origin of Pain: The origin of all Pain is Inflammation and the Inflammatory Response. PART 2 of 3 –Inflammatory Profile of Pain Syndrome    National Library Of Medicine

The Qgenics Inflammation Relief is ideal for reducing or getting rid of muscle pain, joint pain, back pain, head and neck pain, pain caused by arthritis, minor injuries, and much more. It’s also perfect for pain caused by nerves.*    See more studies below.

Inflammation Relief by Qgenics

Totally natural and derived from the juice of fresh organic olives (Olea europaea), each capsule of Inflammation Relief delivers a high concentration of polyphenols and oleic acid and sets a new standard for a true bioavailable anti-inflammatory natural formula.

In addition, the olive polyphenols in Inflammation Relief deliver one of the highest levels of free radical scavenging activity against the damaging effects of free radicals on cells and body tissues. One capsule contains as much antioxidant polyphenols as 8 to 12 ounces of extra virgin olive oil but without the calories.

Inflammation Relief is a proprietary formula exclusive to Qgenics. At the core of this exclusive formulation is Cellinfusion™ Technology which provides 3.4 times greater absorption giving maximum bioavailability and potency of the olive phenol extract at the cellular level to achieve results.

Metabolic disorders can result in chronic inflammation of the body. In turn, the unresolved, chronic inflammation negatively impacts the health of the body, including the cardiovascular system, brain, liver, kidneys and skin.

Inflammation Relief is the result of the latest research conducted in the field of olive polyphenols. Polyphenols are natural bioactive compounds known for their anti-inflammatory capacity, capable of reducing and depressing inflammation without side effects.

Ingredients

Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil

A powerful antioxidant that also has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. May help reduce inflammation underlying skin conditions.

May reduce cholesterol levels and support heart health. May improve digestion, boost metabolism and promote weight loss.

Cellulose

Helps fruit and vegetables release antioxidant compounds. May improve the nutritive value of fermented foods and whole grains. Aids the breakdown of cellulose into usable glucose. Breaks down harmful microbial biofilms.

Many research studies have been conducted on the beneficial effects of olive oil polyphenols and these studies are published on PubMed.gov

Bacterial & Viral Causes of Neuropathy (Nerve Damage)

Bacterial Diseases and Nerve Damage

Viral and bacterial infections can cause indirect nerve damage by provoking conditions referred to as autoimmune disorders, in which specialized cells and antibodies of the immune system attack the body’s own tissues. These attacks typically cause destruction of the nerve’s myelin sheath or axon (the long fiber that extends out from the main nerve cell body).

Lyme disease, diphtheria, and leprosy are bacterial diseases characterized by extensive peripheral nerve damage.

Diphtheria and leprosy are now rare in the United States, but Lyme disease is on the rise. It can cause a wide range of neuropathic disorders, including a rapidly developing, painful polyneuropathy, often within a few weeks after initial infection by a tick bite.

Staph infections that are gotten from hospitalization can also cause nerve damage.

Virus Diseases and Nerve Damage

Viruses that can attack nerve tissues include herpes varicella-zoster (shingles), Epstein-Barr virus, cytomegalovirus, and herpes simplex-members of the large family of human herpes viruses. These viruses severely damage sensory nerves, causing attacks of sharp, lightning-like pain.

In some people, response to the coronavirus has been shown to increase the risk of nerve damage. Some researchers think the unbalanced immune system caused by reacting to the coronavirus may lead to neurological problems.

Postherpetic neuralgia often occurs after an attack of shingles and can be particularly painful.

The human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), which causes AIDS, also causes extensive damage to the central and peripheral nervous systems. The virus can cause several different forms of neuropathy, each strongly associated with a specific stage of an active immunodeficiency disease. A rapidly progressive, painful polyneuropathy affecting the feet and hands is often the first clinically apparent sign of HIV infection.

None of the various neuropathy treatments will restore health to the nerves. You can cover up the symptoms and you can increase circulation and you can make a person feel less pain, etc., but if you work on restoring healthy nerves, the healthier a nerve the less the symptoms. (healthy nerves don’t hurt, tingle, burn, are not numb, etc.) and the relief will be lasting.

What builds healthy nerves*

Healthy sensory nerves mean that they are not painful. Healthy nerves mean that they communicate and don’t send wrong signals such as burning, hot and cold, tingling when there is no reason for it. Healthy motor nerves mean that they relay messages from the brain to the muscle so that they move correctly. Nerves need to be healthy to function properly.

The body needs specific nutrients (vitamins) to be able to build healthy nerves.

It may not give immediate relief (although many do feel changes in the first week) as the vitamins are working at a cellular level, but it does address the actual problem, creating healthy nerves and brings lasting relief.
