Fixing the Musculoskeletal System by Dr. Mike Spearman

The human body is complex. One way to simplify understanding it is to view it from different aspects such as from the biochemical perspective, the anatomy perspective, etc. Another way to view it is through functional systems. There is the digestive system and the cardio vascular as well as other systems.

The muscles and bones are functionally directly integrated. The joints are what make the interconnection functionally possible. Imagine if you had no joints. Your muscles would have a hard time finding something to do.

In chiropractic adjusting, people often ask why they need more than one adjustment. One of the reasons is that there are chronically tight muscles that move the bones and fixate the joints. There are other reasons as well, but this is a reason that is often overlooked. For years, I have been relaxing chronically tight muscles in conjunction with adjusting joints. There is a bit of a vicious circle here of tight muscle, fixed joints and irritated nerve endings or stretched major nerve fibers to which many nerve endings are attached. Furthermore, relaxing a chronically tight muscle, even if done gently, requires releasing significant tension and any pain connected with it.

Sometimes you have to do a bone adjustment before you can relax a tight muscle. Sometimes not. Usually special nutrition is needed to get the muscles to stay relaxed, particularly if you have lots of tight muscles. Fibromyalgia is a term used by orthodox medicine. You must have a bunch of tight muscles in certain locations to be given this diagnosis. Chiropractic adjustments, muscle release techniques and specialized nutrition are what will minimize the presence of fibromyalgia. I might add that excellent mental and physical postures and a minimally stressful life also help, as these conditions put excess demands on the musculoskeletal system biochemically and mechanically.

In my book Change Your Posture, Change Your Life, there is a chapter titled "The Impinge without Cringe Technique". This is a muscle relaxation technique you can do on yourself and talk your chiropractor into doing on you as well if that's not part of the service.

Addressing tight muscles, stuck joints, nutrition and better posture add to a healthier musculoskeletal system. The benefit of that is less pain, less degeneration of the body, and positively the ability to live a more extroverted, active, and creative life.
Sincerely,

A Great Tasting Remedy for Diarrhea

No one wants to deal with a bad case of diarrhea. Diarrhea is not only uncomfortable, but too much of it for too long can lead to dehydration and loss of important electrolytes such as sodium and potassium.

When diarrhea strikes, it’s important to drink more sodium and potassium rich fluids, but there’s another home treatment for diarrhea that’s growing in popularity among people who have this symptom frequently.

Some chronic diarrhea sufferers who experience diarrhea from diseases such as ulcers of the colon are using coconut macaroons for diarrhea treatment. Does munching on coconut cookies really help to slow down diarrhea?

Coconut for Diarrhea Treatment: Is There Any Evidence It Works?

Many people swear by this tasty home remedy, and few can argue with how good coconut macaroons are. On the other hand, there’s little medical literature to support the effectiveness of this treatment.

Coconut for Diarrhea: How Might It Help the Symptoms of Diarrhea

Most experts believe that if this remedy does work, it’s because of the lauric acid coconut contains. The lauric acid in coconut is converted by the body into monolaurin – a compound which has anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and anti-viral properties which somehow soothes irritated intestines and reduces inflammation.

Coconut oil is the very best source of lauric acid, although most people prefer to get their coconut in the form of coconut macaroons.

This remedy is impressive – coconut macaroons for diarrhea. This coconut remedy for diarrhea is not something new. There have been people who have had diarrhea for years that have been relieved with coconut.

Coconut macaroons are usually made with wheat. But many people have a wheat allergy and this allergy in itself can cause a lot of digestive problems. Thus, here is a recipe that does not contain wheat for coconut macaroons:

Mix the ingredients below together:

6 tablespoons sweet rice flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon almond extract
4 egg whites
1 - 14 oz. package of shredded coconut
1/3 cup chocolate chips

Drop onto a cookie sheet and bake at 325 degrees until the tops turn light brown, about 15 or 20 minutes.

How many coconut macaroons do you need?

Apparently, two coconut macaroons a day should keep diarrhea under control. Eating three a day might cause constipation with some people.

If you’re not fond of macaroons, some say eating shredded coconut works just fine.

Stevie Nicks Confesses: Common Remedy Turned My Hair Gray and Molted My Skin...

In the article linked below, Fleetwood Mac star Stevie Nicks discusses the biggest mistake she says she ever made -- giving in to her friends and going to see a psychiatrist. He put her on the drug Klonopin, and the next eight years of her life were destroyed.

According to Nicks, if she didn't take it, her hands started to shake. She gained weight and felt as if she had a neurological disease.

As reported in the Daily Beast, Nicks said:

"Finally, in 1993, I'd had enough. I said, 'Take me to a hospital.' I went in for 47 days, and it made Betty Ford look like a cakewalk. My hair turned gray and my skin molted. I could hardly walk. You can detox off heroin in 12 days. Coke is just a mental detox. But tranquilizers -- they are dangerous. I was terrified to leave, and I came away knowing that that would never happen to me again."

Is there any difference between Diabetic Neuropathy and other forms of Neuropathy?

What is neuropathy?

Nerve Damage.  It is a condition of the nerves where enough damage has been done that it causes numbness, tingling, pain or pins and needles sensations in the hands, feet, arms or legs.  It occurs differently for different people, but is always caused by nerve damage of some sort.

What causes the nerve damage?

Breakdown of the myelin sheath around the nerves.   Without this protection the electrical impluses are not transferred properly just like if you stripped the covering off the electrical wires in your house.

This nerve damage can be caused by many things - medications such as statins, toxins, alcohol, trauma (accidents, surgeries), different diseases (crohn's disease, cancer, bell's palsy, Lyme disease, shingles, etc.) chemotherapy drugs,  and much more.

In each case, what the body needs is certain B vitamins so that the body has the tools it needs to repair the nerves.    Getting special forms of B1 and B12 along with other nutrients that enhance their efficacy is what is needed.

Where can I get these supplements?

Things that Stop Nerve Damage Repair  (Worth reading even if you don't have Neuropathy)

While working with our customers to help them reduce and eliminate their neuropathy there are some things we learned that can lengthen the time it takes to see an improvement in one’s neuropathy symptoms.

One of the things we found is that some of our customers are unknowingly creating a vitamin B deficiency as a result of their daily activities. B vitamins are vital for healthy nerves!

For example, some of the things that cause a B vitamin deficiency are heavy drinking of coffee, tea and soft drinks. This includes de-caffeinated coffee, tea and soft drinks. These beverages act as diuretics that cause the loss of both water and water-soluble B vitamins from the body.

Also, heavy smoking or drinking of alcohol, antibiotics, birth control pills, and stress can all burn up B vitamins.

And of course, there are many prescription medications that cause neuropathy as a side effect

If you are taking one or more of the medications listed below, it can greatly increase the amount of time it will take for you to see results in repairing and reversing your nerve damage.

The following blood pressure medications are known to cause neuropathy as a side effect:

Aceon, Altace, Hydrochlorothiazide (HCT), Hydrodiuril, Lisinopril, Perindopril, Prinivil, Ramipril, Zestril.

The following cholesterol medications are known to cause neuropathy as a side effect:

Advicor, Altocor, Altoprev, Atorvastatin, Baycol, Caduet, Cerivastatin, Crestor, Fluvastatin, Lescol, Lescol XL, Lipex, Lipitor, Lipobay, Lovastatin, Mevacor, Pravachol, Pravastatin, Pravigard Pac, Rosuvastatin, Simvastatin, Vytorin, Zocor.

It’s recommended that if you’re taking any of the above mentioned medications, that you speak to your doctor about getting off of these and replacing them with a natural supplement.

Minimally, your doctor should put you on a medication that does not cause neuropathy, so that the  Nerve Support Formula can nourish the cells of your body so that your body can more effectively repair the nerve damage.

If your doctor is not willing to work with you on this then you should find a doctor who will.

The Nerve Support Formula is a medical food that is specifically formulated for the dietary management of neuropathy, and it works extremely well.

But remember, if you are trying to put a fire out with one hand, it does not help if you are pouring gasoline on it with the other hand!

Here is what some of our customers are saying about using the WSN Nerve Support Formula:

“I am both amazed and delighted with the results I am experiencing from my first order of the Nerve Support Formula! After only 19 days of taking the 4 capsules a day I am free of that awful constant burning in my feet.” - Jeff Hadfield, Manitoba, Canada

"Within just three weeks of starting on your Nerve Support Formula my neuropathy and the pain has decreased dramatically. I am so pleased!” - Betty Latham, Nevada
